Investigator - CIFI


Course Outline

The CIFI training is designed to give an in-depth knowledge of information forensics investigations and assist the student in preparing for the CIFI exam.  Moving through each of the Common Bodies of Knowledge areas and culminating with the Information Forensics Tools and Process session and an in-depth practical lab exercises.   This course covers the theory behind the practice and offers a lab-intensive environment in order for the student to gain practical experience in the methods of information forensics.

Course Topics:

The CIFI  course covers such topics as:

  • Auditing

  • Traceback

  • Investigation and Incident Response

  • Information Forensics Tools and Processes

  • Countermeasures and Secure Design

  • Law Enforcement and Investigation

üDuration

The CIFI course consists of 40 hours incorporating both lecture and hands-on labs.  Class hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Course Schedule:

  • September 25th - 29th. 2005
  • November 28th - December 2nd, 2005
  • December 19th - 22nd, 2005

 

Prerequisites:

Prior to enrolling in the course, it is recommended that all students have at least a basic knowledge of networking (as exhibited in Network + and/or, Security + certification)
